Interactive Discussion Session on Transitions in Higher Education signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Christ University and National Institute of Advanced Studies

Christ University, Bangalore, in a move initiated by the Department of Sociology, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore on March 21, 2012. Dr. Fr. Thomas C. Mathew, Vice Chancellor, Christ University and Dr. V.S. Ramamurthy were the signatory authorities who entered into the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

The key areas covered by this agreement are facilitating collaborative research, post graduate and doctoral studies and training and extension activities related to the Social Sciences. This far reaching agreement will enable joint Conferences, faculty exchange and consultancies.

To mark the eventful day, the Department of Sociology in collaboration with NIAS, organized an Interactive Discussion Session on Transitions in Higher Education. This Session had academics from across the city discuss and explore diverse areas such as Education policies and reforms, transitions in teaching and issues relating to questions of diversity and inclusion in higher education.

This initiative by the Department of Sociology is sure to be of tremendous significance to the academic enhancement of both the institutions as demonstrated by this first collaborative discussion session.

X e Bit 2012
Project Exhibition and Competition
2nd March 2012, Christ University 

X-eBit, the project exhibition and competition organized every year by the Department of Computer Science, provides a platform for the  PG students  to showcase their academic project work. X-eBit 2012 organized on 2nd March 2012, like previous years was marked with overwhelming participation from the students of MCA and M Sc (Computer Science).

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Nanjegowda, Dean of Sciences, Christ University. 75 students participated in the exhibition and demonstrated  innovative ideas through the 35 projects implementations in the areas of computer architecture, system software and RDBMS.

The competition was judged by a panel of industry experts comprising of Mr Abhinav Dubey, AMD, Mr. Boby Alexander, Honeywell Technology Solutions and Mr Indranil Sen, Accenture Technology Solutions.  Besides the project ideas, stall decoration by students was also well appreciated by visitors.

Softex 2012 
Annual Intercollegiate Project Exhibition and Competition
1st March 2012, Christ University 

Softex is an annual intercollegiate project exhibition and competition conducted by the Department of Computer Science for the under graduate students. It is a forum that provides a platform for young scholars to exhibit their talents, interact and broaden their spectrum of knowledge.

Softex 2012 was inaugurated by Mr. Rahul Chatterjee, General Manager and Head – Health care, ATOS IT  solutions and services , Bangalore on 1 March 2012 in the Mini auiditorium.. He also inaugurated the project exhibition.

Workshops on Adobe Photoshop, audio production, 3D Maya, Mobile Application development  was conducted by the students. Active participation from outside colleges was seen in all the workshops.

Dr. N. M. Nanjegowda , Dean of Science, Christ University , Bangalore was the chief guest for the valedictory function.
